Truth and Reconciliation Commission: Calls to Action
Through our work in the Canadian Culture and Communication for Nurses (CCCN) program, PEG Canada commits to responding to the health-related Calls to Action, through the provision of high quality instruction which promotes culturally safe health care that is free of racism for Indigenous Peoples. By making Indigenous health issues part of our standard curricula, including the history and legacy of residential schools, as well as exploring Indigenous Traditional Healing practices as part of the health or healing journey of Indigenous Peoples who request it, we seek to advance the cultural competency skills of the health care professionals we teach.
Traditional Territories Acknowledgement
PEG Canada acknowledges that it was founded on the original lands of Treaty 1 and on the homelands of the Métis Nation. PEG Canada respects that the First Nation treaties were made on these territories and acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and we dedicate ourselves to collaborate in partnership with First Nation, Métis, and Inuit people in the spirit of reconciliation.
